Day 1: USA - Lima - Cusco

  • USA LIMA CUSCO
  • Activity Note: We will spend tonight and the next few nights at elevations above 9,000 feet. We recommend staying hydrated while at high altitude.
  • You depart from the S. and fly to Lima Peru, arriving late in the evening or early morning.
  • Our transfer guide will be at the airport to meet you and escort you to your next flight to Cusco.
  • As soon as you arrive in the city of Cusco, after luggage collection, you will be met by your PeruIncaDiscovery Tour Leader and your adventure in the Inca Land just begins.
  • Cusco is the former capital of the Inca Empire and today a UNESCO World Heritage
  • We continue our journey through The Sacred Valley of the Incas, until we reach the town of Urubamba where our hotel is located, you will have the rest of the afternoon to relax in the best place.
  • Dinner is on your own, we will be happy to offer suggestions.

Day 2: Pisaq

  • We are going to explore this beautiful Inca site.
  • Begin the day with a scenic drive to the impressive Inca site of PISAQ, this is going to be a very lovely half-day of hiking.
  • We will enjoy traditional homemade Peruvian food in an authentic estate, surrounded by art and with a breathtaking view of the Sacred Valley of the Incas.
  • In the afternoon we are going to have a Discovery.
  • Today dinner is on your own.

Day 3: Pumamarka - Ollantaytambo

  • PUMAMARKA OLLANTAYTAMBO
  • Begin the day with a scenic drive to the impressive Inca site of PumaMarka, this is going to be a very lovely half-day of hiking.
  • This beautiful Inca town is a living legacy, you will see the narrow long Inca streets, the water canals still working perfectly and the Quechuas that live in houses from 11 hundred AD.
  • We will visit the impressive Templo of the Sun consider one of the biggest mysteries left by The Inca architecture.
  • Lunch will be at the unique Wayra restaurant accompanied by Peruvian Paso Fino horse riding demonstrations and Marinera dancers.
  • Dinner is on your own.

Day 4: Maras Moray Salineras

  • MARAS MORAY SALINERAS.
  • Prepare for a full day of immersive cultural Discovery.
  • We will spend a Day in the Life of the colonial village of Maras known for its nearby evaporation salt ponds of Salineras, which have been harvested since Inca times.
  • Lunch will be a feast to celebrate Mother Earth.
  • Today dinner is on your own.

Day 5: Machu Picchu

  • MACHUPICCHU
  • The best way to understand the unique culture of Cusco people is through local experiences, and a Healing Ceremony with a Quechua medicine man is no exception.
  • Once on board of the fancy train start your experience off with a welcome cocktail, just after that the maître will invite you to enjoy a gourmet lunch.
  • We will discover the enigmas of MachuPicchu our highlight of the journey, the Inca Masterpiece.

Day 6: Machu Picchu

  • Let’s explore the site and its surroundings more fully and at a more relaxed
  • Embark on a captivating culinary journey at your hotel for lunch.
  • The return trip includes a fine dining experience on the luxury train.

Day 7: Cusco

  • CUSCO
  • We are going to visit the temple of the sun the famous QORICANCHA, one of the most finely worked stone structures. Inca architecture is widely known for its fine masonry, which features precisely cut and shaped stones closely fitted without mortar.
  • After this visit, we are ready to see SACSAYHUAMAN, by driving 20 minutes from Cusco, we approach into SACSAYHUAMAN, you will be impressed by the scale of the Inca Site, this is one of the biggest mysteries of the Inca architecture.
  • Lunch is going to be in one of the best restaurants in Cusco, The Inka Grill, considered the pioneer of the culinary revolution in Cusco.
  • Dinner is on your own.

Day 8: Rainbow Mountain

  • DESTINATION: RAINBOW MOUNTAIN
  • ACCOMMODATION: Monasterio hotel by Belmond or a similar hotel.
  • DISTANCE COVERED: 5 MILES
  • MINIMUM ALTITUDE: Cusco 11,000 feet (3,200 meters)
  • MAXIMUN ALTITUDE: Vinicunca 17,060 feet (5,200 meters)
  • MEAL INCLUDED: B/L/D
  • IMPORTANT NOTE: The altitude of the mountain makes it a very challenging hike. MORNING: We will start early and drive 2 hours and 45 minutes to Rainbow Mountain, listed in National Geographic’s “Top 100 Places to Visit Before You Die”.
  • This is a gentle hike the trail itself is mostly flat until the final ascent, there are also horses available along the trail, they bring you to the end of the flat part of the trail where you’ll have to dismount and climb the final stretch on foot to reach the summit.

Day 9: Cusco - Puno

  • CUSCO PUNO
  • ACCOMMODATION: Andean Explorer, A Belmond Train Overnight on board at Lake Titicaca station.
  • MEAL INCLUDED: B/L/D
  • At 10:00hs meet your Belmond representative in your hotel lobby for the private transfer to Wanchaq train station.
  • 11:00hs Depart on the Andean Explorer train to Puno.
  • Your journey today departs from Cusco, ancient capital of the Inca Empire, and courses along the highest plains of the Andes to reach the reflective beauty of Lake Titicaca.
  • 13:00hs We enjoy lunch on board
  • 16:30hs Arrival at La Raya, which marks the border between the regions of Cusco and Puno. This is a typical Puna landscape with feathery grassland called ichu and alpacas, llamas and vicunas grazing on the slopes.
  • TE TIME: 16:45hs at the bar car
  • Pre-dinner cocktails are served at 19:00hs. with dinner from 19:30hs.
  • EVENING: 22:00hs Arrival in Puno – Lake Titicaca train station

Day 10: Puno - Arequipa

  • PUNO AREQUIPA
  • ACCOMMODATION: Andean Explorer, A Belmond Train, overnight at Saracocha.
  • MEAL INCLUDED: B/L/D
  • BREAKFAST: 06:00hs Breakfast on board.
  • MORNING: 09:30hs Depart by boat to the Uros floating Islands. The indigenous Urus people belong to a small ethnic group that once co-existed on Lake Titicaca with the Incas, Aymaras and possibly even older civilizations.
  • LUNCH: 12:30hs Enjoy a set menu lunch in the hangar at Puno station
  • AFTERNOON: 15:30hs Departure to Saracocha
  • DINNER: Pre-dinner cocktails will be at 19:00hs. and dinner will be served at 19:30hs.
  • EVENING: 19:30hs Arrival at Saracocha.

Day 11: Arequipa - Lima

  • AREQUIPA LIMA
  • MEAL INCLUDED: B/L
  • BREAKFAST: 06:00hs Breakfast on board and time to enjoy this magnificent lake, a perfect site for seeing and learning about the region´s fauna, especially birds.
  • MORNING: At 09:50hs we will stop to visit the remarkable Sumbay Caves, featuring more than 500 ancient paintings and engravings of local wildlife, including herds of guanaco, a relative of the llama that still lives in Peru´s high sierra.
  • 11:30hs Stop at Km. 93 station, where passengers going to Colca (not included in train ticket) will disembark.
  • LUNCH: 12:30hs Light lunch on board
  • AFTERNOON: 15:30hs Arrival at Arequipa train station.
  • 16:00hs Transfer to Arequipa airport for your flight to Lima. On the way to the airport, enjoy a short panoramic tour of Arequipa, the nation´s second most important city, standing at the foot of the Misti volcano in the highlands. Arequipa has many fine colonial/Spanish buildings built of sillar, a pearly white volcanic rock. This is where the city gets its nickname, La Ciudad Blanca (the white city).
  • Arrival at Arequipa International Airport for your flight to Lima.
